A lorry driver who dumped a bicycle after a fatal crash with a cyclist has been jailed for two years.

Andrew Stubbs, 41, of Bicester, Oxfordshire, was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court for knocking over Anthony Spink in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

He had dumped 41-year-old Mr Spink’s bicycle to cover up the crash, which happened in July 2007.

    When I first moved to Leeds as a student in 1987, through lack of preperation on my part, i found myslef living in a non-student house and Tony was one of the other residents and a smashing housemate he was; he rarely did the washing up but brewed wine that stripped the light from your eyes and took the wind from your lungs. I am sure he will be missed by all who knew him. Take care mate. Mike
